Functional Safety for the Automotive Design Engineer

The automotive industry is under pressure to provide new and improved vehicle systems, ranging from body, chassis and powertrain systems to extremely complex advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with accident prediction and avoidance capabilities. Electronics play a key role in these systems, and ISO 26262 has been developed to address the design of electronic systems that could otherwise lead to hazardous situations if these systems fail in an uncontrolled way.

Freescale's SafeAssure program is aligned with the international standards at the heart of automotive functional safety to allow system engineers to design with confidence and efficiently achieve system-level compliance. The program facilitates the design of systems addressing safety goals from ASIL-A to ASIL-D. The SafeAssure program identifies products that are targeted for use in the effective implementation of functional safety technologies.

This webinar will cover:

  • the emerging functional safety requirements for automotive applications
  • the implications of new safety standards for automotive engineers
  • ways to simplify the process of achieving compliance to these standards with Freescale SafeAssure
