Uptime Institute, Site Uptime Network
Kenneth G. Brill is the founder and Executive Director of the Uptime Institute and the Site Uptime Network comprising 100-corporate members in North America and EMEA. Many industry innovations over the last 25 years trace back to his original concepts including dual power and the industry's Tier system for evaluating and classifying data center performance. Mr. Brill's research into the Economic Meltdown of Moore's Law, Data Center Productivity and Energy Efficiency, and IT's declining economics form the core knowledge for corporate leaders charged with business performance, profitability, and sustainability.
With McKinsey & Co. as a knowledge partner, he has formulated and is now promulgating Corporate Average Data Center Efficiency (CADE) and Site Analytics Validate Effectiveness (SAVE) initiatives. These are concrete and comprehensive programs for radically cutting data center OpEx, CapEx, energy consumption, and carbon footprint in the immediate short term (18 months) by benchmarking and controlling IT and Facility energy consumption.
Mr. Brill received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008 from Datacentre Dynamics in London. He holds an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Redlands and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
