Jeff Caldwell is the Director of Storage and Planning for the Chicago Board Options Exchange, and has been with CBOE over 20 years. As the primary person responsible for storage Jeff has watched CBOE’s disk storage grow from 50TB’s in 2004 to over 2.1PB’s today. Jeff and his team are responsible for setting the vision, choosing the architecture and the day-to-day management of CBOE’s entire storage infrastructure.

In other roles at CBOE Jeff has been responsible for the Enterprise Backup and Tape environment, Automated-Scheduling, he also managed the Production Control and Technical Support Groups. Over his entire 30 year career, Jeff has held most positions within Systems-Operations from I/O clerk to Computer Operator to Data Center Manager. This Operations-Centric experience gives Jeff a unique perspective in meeting today’s Data Center challenges.

Jeff lives in Woodridge, IL with his wife of 30 years and three children.
