Sean Rhody

Sean Rhody is a partner with CSC's U.S. Consulting Group. A leader in service-oriented architecture (SOA), Rhody has delivered a number of large-scale SOA projects for CSC. He founded Java Developers Journal and served as editor-in-chief for four years. He also founded SOA World Magazine and currently serves as editor-in-chief. He has published five books on technology, including Professional Java Data and Beginning Java Web Services. A sixth book Real World SOA, is due to be published in July of 2007. During his career with CSC, he has been nominated for four Technical Excellence Awards, CSC's highest internal recognition for technical achievement. His latest work on IT process improvement was a finalist in 2007.

Prior to joining the company in 1997, Rhody held a number of senior positions in various industries. He served as chief information officer of a technology marketing company and was responsible for the creation of its Internet consulting practice. He also worked at AT&T for a number of years as a consultant to several different divisions. In addition, he was the chief architect of an enterprise resource planning software product designed for the paper and textile industries, served as a programmer analyst for AT&T Capital Corp., and was part of a team that worked with Powersoft in the development of its PowerBuilder product. He began his career in the IT industry as the systems manager for an environmental laboratory. Previously, he spent several years working in scientific research.

Rhody holds bachelor's degrees in physics and computer science from Rutgers University.
