Mark Linebaugh

Mark Linebaugh serves as Director of Dell’s Server Engineering organization. In this role, he directs worldwide product development activities for Dell’s PowerEdge product line.

Mr. Linebaugh joined Dell in 1999 as a senior engineering manager in the Desktop Engineering organization where he led the development of a number of OptiPlex commercial desktop products and Dimension consumer desktop products. In 2001, he was named Director of Desktop Engineering, responsible for the OptiPlex mainstream product line. Later, he transitioned to Director of Workstation Engineering, responsible for development of the Precision workstation product line. In 2003, he transitioned to Dell’s Enterprise Product Group where he led the development of several products in Dell’s PowerEdge server portfolio, including 4-way, modular and entry-level servers. During this period, he created and managed the Server Electrical Engineering team. Most recently, Mr. Linebaugh served as Director of mainstream server development and leader of Dell’s global Power Engineering organization. He was appointed to his current role in June 2006.

Mr. Linebaugh began his career at Lockheed Martin’s Air Defense group (formerly LTV Aerospace and Defense) in Grand Prairie, TX where he was responsible for the design of custom I/O and control ASICs for missile guidance computers. In 1989 he became an embedded systems engineer responsible for the development of multiprocessor fire control systems. In 1993, he became a senior systems engineer responsible for the development of missile guidance computers.

He is currently serving as Engineering Advisor for the University of Texas in Austin.

Mr. Linebaugh received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1984. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife, Sondra and their two children Ross and Rylan.
