Allan Alter is the editorial research director of Ziff Davis Enterprise, and the author of the CIO Insight's Research Central blog. Before becoming research director, he was the executive editor of CIO Insight. A veteran business journalist and researcher with over 20 years experience covering IT management, Alter was a member of the original editorial team at both CIO Insight and CIO Magazine, and assisted the launch of CIO Insight China. Alter is also the former editor-in-chief of the MIT Sloan Management Review, and management section editor of Computerworld. He holds degrees in history from the University of Michigan and the University of Pennsylvania.
