The eLearning Guild is a member-driven online information center and Community of Practice where anyone involved in the design, development, and management of web-based educational or instructional content (e-Learning) can identify and access resources needed to ensure that their organizations' projects are successful, engage in a professional peer network, and focus on expanding their own professional skills, knowledge, and expertise. There are over 27,000 members in The eLearning Guild in 139 countries.

We define the term "e-Learning" as all educational or instructional content that is distributed using web-based technologies to achieve any of a variety of learning objectives including (but not limited to):

• Employee, business partner, or VAR training designed to increase skills, knowledge, and/or performance.
• The academic education of students whether in a K-12 or Higher Ed setting.
• Marketing communications designed to educate and motivate prospective customers.
• Customer support designed to increase a customer's comfort, skill, knowledge, and/or performance using your organizations products or services.
• Really, any situation you can imagine where the goal is to impart information that will enable the user to learn something.

Guild membership will provide you with a variety of benefits and services — most included with membership and some requiring separate purchase — that you can take advantage of to increase your knowledge, skills, and expertise.

Members Helping Members

Guild membership is all about members sharing with, and learning from, other members. That's why we call it a Community of Practice. To that end, every member is asked to provide us with detailed information about their skills, their work, their current organization, the tools they use, and how to stay in contact with them. This information is used by Guild Research to better understand the needs of all members so we can meet those needs, and to provide you with better research about the tools, technologies, strategies, techniques, and best practices commonly used by members. We area also constantly looking for members to contribute their knowledge and expertise in our publications and events.
