Commodities Unveiled

Featuring: Tom C. Willis, Sr and William Adams
Tuesday, May 6, 4 pm CST

The commodities markets have been the center of volatility in recent years, as grains, energy and metals all hit new price highs. Two expert veteran traders will discuss how and why the markets have changed and provide invaluable insights and methods to take advantage of the volatility and manage your risk.

Thomas C. Willis, Sr. has been trading the commodities markets since 1971, trading from the Chicago Board of Trade floor to running a successful commodity trading advisor to trading through Mesirow Financial today. He has been featured in several books including Market Beaters, The Big Hitters, Trading Rules and When Supertraders Meet Kryptonite.

William Adams is managing director of JKV GLOBAL in Chicago.  He is responsible for the global marketing of commodities as an alternative asset class and as a means for clients to achieve portfolio diversification, and works closely with private investors, hedgers, corporations, institutional speculators and retirement funds. He is responsible for the identification, evaluation, origination and ongoing risk management of commodity-oriented investments within a portfolio.  Mr. Adams began his career as a technical analyst and broker for another Chicago futures firm. The focus of his expertise was evaluating trading parameters and risk management strategies.  His tenure there ended as the chief energy & capital markets strategist where he managed a trading desk, devised and executed trade strategies primarily for the aforementioned markets.

Wednesday, May 7, 10 am CST

Al Brooks, 56, is a self taught/self made day trader who has traded for his own account for 20 years. He started out in medicine after attending the University of Chicago, where he also did his ophthalmology residency. The pull of trading was with him early, as during his entire stay in Chicago, he always wondered if he should drop out and work on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
